dorkfysh's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isn't she lovely? This weekend we drove all the way out to the middle of nowhere and hung out in a house full of birds and cats and dogs and a tortoise and some fish and some bunnies out back. A full menagerie. The people that take care of these animals are wonderful and warm and smart and funny and I wish I could go there every weekend. I envy the education those kids are getting. They are so in tune with nature and so curious about everything...just like the kid. I guess my kid is unschooled in a way. She comes home and tells me what she is learning and I ask her what she thinks about it and we explore the stuff that she has an interest in. She has given speeches about feminism and Columbus and speaks out against the war at school. I am trying to get her into a school that will challenge her in the way she needs to be challenged. I make sure she is involved in all the activities she is interested in. She will be taking an animation class and going to science camp and rock and roll camp. I'm just here to make sure she is ok being herself. I am fascinated by the person she is becoming. Last night she took me out to dinner with the money my stepdad handed her when he told her to never protest her government. I have a feeling that she did this because that lunch with him was one of the most frustrating moments in my life and she wanted to make it up to me since she was the one that wanted to see her "papa" so bad. Now it seems she just wants to talk to him on the phone. He made a big mistake by insulting me. He lost a lot of respect in her eyes and I don;t think he can get it back. I'm happy...she doesn't need assholes like him in her life. MIne would have been a lot better if he had never been in it. OK...off to fax more resumes. If you are reading this, send me some job getting vibes.
