dorkfysh's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Feverish Ramblings Being sick does not improve one's attitude. *grumblegrumble* I made a large vat of soup last night while the kid was over at the neighbor's playing the cursed video games. I'm sure the soup was delicious but this horrible cold has rendered my taste buds useless. I ate it anyway because the vitamins are suppoed to be good for me. I think I overnoodled and it could have used a tomato or two. Flashing lights kept appearing in my window and after a lot of nosy neighbor window peering I discovered that the front of the complex has become some sort of speed trap. I watched a cop pull over a hispanic guy and had him get out of the car so he could search him. I thought that was strange since the guy hadn't handed him a driver's license or anything. The cop patted him down and took his wallet out to get the ID. They were out there for quite some time and when I looked again I saw the guy and a much older man emptying the trunk out. It was full of groceries. The car got impounded and the two men loaded their stuff in a cab. The whole thing seemed a bit fishy. In just over an hour I saw six cars get pulled over. Remind me to drive like I'm 90 next time I leave the house. I'm not sure if I have insurance or not and I can't afford to pay for it if I don't...so...well...I tend to avoid these things. *** Took the kid, A and C to OMSI the other day and I was feeling horrible. My head felt stuffed with felt and looking at the creepy dead embreyos suspending in mysterious liquid made my tummy lurch a bit. Me and A tried to figure out where they got these things and if these were healthy embryos and fetuses. The one that was full term seemed to be Asian and was attached to the uterus. It was a baby girl. I couldn't get the horrible images of what must have happended to get this display out of my head. *shudder* I am both fascinated and disgusted by that particular part of the science museum and it's almost always the first thing I look at. The kid ran around doing everything and missed out on petting the beautiful leopard gecko. She was gorgeous. I want one! I also want some kind of red salamander...and some kind of rodent. Like a chinchilla or a kangaroo rat. I volunteered to hang out in Busytown with C while he wrestled with other 4 year olds for the Brio trains. I sat inside the apple car and tried to be happy like Lowlyworm, but it didn't work. My head was too full of snot and felt like it weighed 40 pounds. I ended up in the chemistry lab with the kid where we wore goggles and zinc plated some copper brads, made explosive noises and melted some plastic. We missed out on making the gummi worms because it was time for the place to close. I love OMSI....except for the creepy nuclear submarine that I will never set foot in. Now it's time to snuggle on the couch with the sweet kid and watch Lord of the Rings....again. *sniffle* 10:54 a.m. - March 08, 2003 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
