dorkfysh's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- yo mama For Mother's Day I got to sleep in and the kid made me toast with honey and some very cute origami animals, a red stone that says "love" and a small clear green plastic frog. She then sat in my lap like when she was a baby and cuddled because she knows it makes me sad that she doesn't do that anymore. Soon we will go spend the afternoon with her lovely fairy godfathers. It's been a stellar weekend. Friday night was the animation showing and when it was over we walked to the Max and passed the Guild theater and heard Nsync blasting out of open windows on the 2nd floor. We turned the corner we saw a bunch of kids in cheesy formal wear and figured that some kind of prom was happening. Is there a hotel or something in that building? I couldn't figure out what the hell was going on. It seemed like the dance was being held in an office space. We made it back to B's for more porch sitting and music listening until the kid kept turning on Jackass which little A's parents didn't really approve of. A got her TV taken out of her room and we took that as a hint that it was time to skedaddle. I don't think M likes the kid so much. I'm pretty sure he thinks she's a terrible influence on sweet little A. Yesterday morning we sang along to Hedwig and then went to Goodwill to hunt for something extra tacky and cheesy for mnvnjnsn 's housewarming party. The place was sadly lacking in tacky figurines. (I swear I will find something for you soon!) We did find some very cool boots for the kid that are too big, but so woderful we had to buy them and wish for a growth spurt. They are like docs with a sort of wing tip style toe and heel. They are some bad ass boots. Made it to mnvnjnsn 's for the party with a pie we didn't bake. The kid played video games and then was allowed to play CSI with a cool Discovery Kid's game. This chiquita so wins the coolest aunt contest. The kid can't wait to go back and play some more. I want a game room! OH! I also got a lovely TWoP pin and borrowed some killer books! I felt like Queen for a Day! Wheeee! We then sped over to yet another party and I was greeting by gay men humping my leg. Don't ask. It seemed we missed the big announcement that A & A are getting hitched! I think marriage is insane, but I'm happy for them. They are so very sweet and let the kid borrow a comic about freaks! I got to pet an adorable schnauzer named Malcolm and drink delicious margaritas and eat too many sweet-hot peppers. I'm starting to think I do all this socializing to avoid cleaning my apartment. I'm crafty like that. Happy Mother's Day to me and all the moms I know! 1:35 p.m. - May 11, 2003 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
