dorkfysh's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- what it's all about The kid has changed so much this summer. She's so much happier. I was worried about her through the whole school year. Her anger was making me nervous. Now I see that I was right. I saw that her constant need to defend herself was wearing her down and made every single day a struggle. I think the principal understood that, but not her teacher. The more I think of how the teacher reacted to the kid's questioning nature, the madder I get. There is nothing ok about a 4th grade teacher covering her ears and going la-la-la-la when she doesn't want to listen anymore. I won't even go into the awfulness of the other kids. I still don't have anything in writing regarding the good school and it's making me edgy. I have called, but it still seems they are out on summer break...which is probably why I haven't heard from them. If something freakish happens and she doesn't get in...well...I don't know what I'll do. I will go down there and lay on the floor and have a big screaming fit or something. I will handcuff myself to a water fountain. Something. I can't send the kid back to her old school. It would kill her. She has been spending lots of time with Crazy Bitch and her funny little boy. The kid makes music and art and creates games for all the kids to play. She is treated as mature as she is acting and she's blossoming into a responsible young woman. She still gets angry and stupid when she's tired and hungry and flops on the couch and complains that she is bored or feeling too delicate to take out the trash. She still tells me that I never let her do anything and sometimes she even says she hates me. That's ok. I know she doesn't mean it. She hugs me more than she tells me I suck. The I love yous far outweigh the I hate yous, so I think we will be fine.
